I will Awake the Dawn

Story time... In 2005, Bill and I were living in Florida.  I had been working with the youth at my church but had an invitation to start singing with the worship team.  My biggest passion has always been to sing but also had a passion for youth and considering what I had experienced growing up, I felt I had something to offer.  I was just trying to find my place at that time and the two schedules conflicted. Ugh. 

One night on my way home I was praying about which one I should concentrate on.  I LOVED working with the youth BUT I had a strong desire to sing. 

As I was praying a song by MercyMe came on. I didn’t think about it much but knew the song well.  I went in the house and opened my bible because I wanted to search for an answer.  My bible opened directly to Psalm 57…. As my eyes glanced down, it was so surreal! 

I was reading the lyrics I had just heard in the car!

I began singing right away and Funny.  The Lord made margin in my life to do both youth and worship team.

17 years later, I continue to sing.  Worship is a weapon!  It walks me through very tough times.  It calms my spirit and with it’s lyrics of truth, reminds me of His faithfulness and who we are in Him.  When I do not have the words… a song will be those words for me, lifting up my hearts cry. 

 

I am so grateful for the way the Lord speaks.  He has so much to say!
